I was approached by the National Trust early this year to transform the main herbaceous border of their Lancashire based property - Rufford Old Hall.

This Victorian garden lacked summer colour. My brief was to remove the existing heathers and replace them with a romantic, cottage style planting scheme. Using Gertrude Jekyll as my inspiration I filled the borders with traditional colourful summer flowering perennials such as Lupins, Delhiniums and Helenium.
